Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property
Wild Bluff Golf Course is a hidden gem located in the UP of Michigan. 18 Beautiful holes, all of them different and challenging in their own way. Spectacular views of Lake Superior are seen throughout the golf course. With 5 sets of tees, a great challenge can be offered to golfers of any skill level. Our Starter Shack, located on the 1st and 10th tee provides any and all cold drinks, along with the best hot dogs and brats around! We also have a full service restaurant located on the upper floor of the clubhouse for pre and post golf drinks along with a full menu. With a huge wrap around deck overlooking the 18th green, a drink on the deck is surely the best way to end your round. We have GPS on our golf carts to guide you around each hole, providing detailed yardages and graphics. With always immaculate conditions, Wild Bluff is a golf experience like no other in the UP!
If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course?
The condition, and the challenge of our golf course here at Wild Bluff is unmatched in our area. GPS on the golf carts is a wonderful feature as well!
What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
With trouble on both sides of almost every hole, hitting the ball in the fairway is crucial to scoring well here at Wild Bluff. Our greens are fast but true, a well tuned short game will also help you score better.
Any recent changes to the golf course? Or any upcoming changes?
We have many plans to make improvements to the property, but those projects are still in the planning phase for now.
Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course?
We were awarded 4 1/2 Stars by Golf Digest. Play here once and you will see why! We are most proud of the condition we keep the course in. It takes many long hours and behind the scenes work but we are very proud of the golf experience we are able to provide here.
What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
#15 at Wild Bluff is definitely our signature hole. Voted one of the Toughest 10 Holes in Michigan by viewers of Michigan Golf Live, this par 3 is a unique challenge of its own. With an 80 foot elevation drop from tee to green, and a variety of yardages depending on what tees you are playing, this hole will test all your skills. The wind is often a major factor on this hole, making club selection crucial to keeping your round on track through hole #15.
What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It?
My favorite hole is #11. A par 5, a very high risk high reward hole. With a sharp dogleg to the right, you can choose a driver and cut off as much as you can. But beware, a pond at the end of the fairway will ruin your shot if you don't choose your line carefully. It is not a very long hole, but to have a short club in your hand and a chance at an eagle, a perfect tee shot is a must.
Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
Our big Bloody Mary's and Ceasers by far our most popular request!
For the traveling golfer, do you have lodging onsite or partner with any area hotels?
We do, we have a full hotel and Casino across the street from the golf course
Who Holds Course Record and What Was Their Score?
The course record from the back tees is 66. We used to have a Canadian Tour Event here, and this score was shot by 3 of those players in that tournament, which was held here several years in a row.
